Diese kleine Stadt hat nur etwas mehr als 10.000 Einwohner, aber fast zwei Millionen Gäste pro Jahr. Die Stadt liegt in Bayern und ist fast komplett von einer Stadtmauer umgeben. Darauf kannst du sogar entlangspazieren und eine kleine Weltreise unternehmen. Du siehst nämlich Informationstafeln mit den Namen der Personen, die für die Mauer gespendet haben. Stell dir vor, dort kannst du sogar die Namen von Australiern, Japanern und Südafrikanern lesen! Es ist großartig, dass den Menschen diese Mauer so wichtig ist und sie dafür Geld geben.
Es gibt auch zwei besondere Museen: das Kriminalmuseum und das Foltermuseum. Aber aufgepasst! Nicht dass du auf dumme Gedanken kommst.
Um dich abzulenken, besuchst du am besten das Weihnachtsdorf von Käthe Wohlfahrt. Das kannst du sogar im August besichtigen, denn es ist das ganze Jahr über geöffnet. Und ich wette mit dir, dass du etwas kaufen wirst. Auch wenn du deine gekauften Christbaumkugeln, Kuckucksuhren oder Weihnachtspyramiden nicht transportieren kannst, ist das kein Problem. Käthe Wohlfahrt liefert auch weltweit zu dir nach Hause.
Und wenn du noch ein bisschen Energie brauchst, isst du am besten einen Schneeball – die typische Spezialität der Stadt. Er schmeckt dir ganz bestimmt!
This small town has only a little over 10,000 residents, but almost two million visitors per year. The city is located in Bavaria and is almost completely surrounded by a city wall. You can walk along it and take a little trip around the world. You will see information boards with the names of the people who donated to the wall. You even can read the names of Australians, Japanese and South Africans! It's great that people care so much about this wall and donate money towards it.
There are also two special museums: the Crime Museum and the Torture Museum. But be careful not to get any funny ideas!
To keep your mind off things, the best thing to do is to visit Käthe Wohlfahrt's Christmas Village. You can even visit it in August - it's open year-round - and I bet you you'll buy something. Even if you can't transport your newly-bought Christmas tree baubles, cuckoo clocks or 'Weihnachtspyramiden' (pyramid-shaped Christmas ornaments), that's not a problem because Käthe Wohlfahrt delivers to your home anywhere in the world.
